East Opole Tunnel

The implementation of the East Opole Tunnel project was one of the main elements of the transport system modification in the area of the East Opole (Opole Wschodnie) station. With the introduction of the new solution, the residents of Opole could forget the long traffic jams and obstructions which slowed them down for years. There is a new road available with smooth traffic flow, which improved the functionality of this part of the city.

The East Opole Transfer Centre redevelopment project, during which the tunnels we illuminated were built, started in early 2019 and was completed in 2022. Its cost was more than PLN 184 million, including PLN 115 million in EU funding from the Cohesion Fund which the Municipal Office received for this purpose. This is certainly one of the biggest investments in recent years in Opole.

Illuminating a tunnel is an extremely responsible task, so we have used high bay luminaires from the BEETLE family in this project. A total of 88 pieces of our BEETLE LED TUNNEL luminaire have been installed in the tunnels, which let us achieve the effect of optimal and even illumination of each zone. Driving comfort has been improved, as has good visibility.

Our tunnel LED luminaires are designed to last as long as possible – up to 100,000 hours. They combine above-average energy efficiency, extraordinary durability, as well as easy installation and maintenance. In tunnels, LED lighting has to be extremely resistant to increased pollution from car fumes, so the BEETLE TUNNEL LED luminaire was a perfect choice.

High bay luminaires from the BEETLE family are also available in a special stainless steel housing, including an explosion-proof version and soon also an emergency version powered by a central battery.
